Neil Bayliss BA PCIfA
Assistant Planning Officer
Neil works with Mark as part of the CPAT Planning Service, which provides archaeological planning and development control advice and support to the local authorities in the Clwyd-Powys region.
Neil joined CPAT in 2018, having previously worked as a volunteer whilst completing his degree at the University of Chester. He came to archaeology following a 26-year career in the print industry. Prior to his current role Neil worked on a range of curatorial tasks, assisting with development control, heritage management and data entry into the Historic Environment Record.
From time to time he also keeps his hand in with archaeological research projects, most recently at Beacon Ring and Llys Edwin and enjoys getting his hands dirty on site.
Outside CPAT Neil enjoys spending time with family, walking and occasionally playing cricket. He is also a football referee, officiating at Tier 3 in the Welsh system, and also assessing the development of young referees and assistant referees at the (sometimes difficult) start of their careers.
