NGR :- SJ2858855200 (SJ25NE)
Unitary authority :- Flintshire
Community :- Llanfynydd
Prefered site type :- 21st Century - Evaluation (Event - )
Evaluation ahead of housing development on land to south of Ffrith and to east of Pont Newydd, carried out by Earthworks Archaeology. Illustrated that Roman settlement did not extend south to this extent, no archaeological deposits or remains were
uncovered. A metalled surface (PRN 86912) was discovered however, running parallel with modern B5101, which was undated but could be remains of a Roman road running south from settlement. No features or deposits associated with Offa's Dyke were discovered
either. (Walker, W S, 2000)
