CYRIL FOX IN 1926 FOUND ROMAN ARTEFACTS BOTH WITHIN THE BANK MATERIAL OF OFFA'S DYKE AND STRATIFIED BENEATH IT.
The finds comprised numerous fragments of tile and pottery, fragments of iron and glass, cattle bones, a bronze rivet and charcoal (Davies, E, 1949, pp232-3).
