IN 1709 A PROBABLE ROMAN FLUE TILE WAS FOUND (Davies, E, 1949, pp230).
In a letter of 1708-9 a Mr R Davies reported having a 'brick tunnel' in his possession. The find location is described as 'near Estyn in Flintshire' (RCAHM, 1912, pp56).
