The remains of walls strongly cemented with hard mortar were found in 1874. Roman pottery including Samian and other coarse wares were also found (Palmer, A N, 1903, pp122).

Precise location in Ffrith not known. Approximate location estimated from notes in Ellis Davies regarding Fox's excavation of 1926 (Davies, E, 1949, pp232).
