PRN 100021 (part of 100020 ) - Ffrith Roman site, building I

NGR :- SJ284552 (SJ25NE)
Unitary authority :- Flintshire
Community :- Llanfynydd
Prefered site type :- Roman - Building (Building - Unknown )

Camden in 1586 reports the discovery of a hypocaust in Ffrith with brick pillars supporting a tiled floor. Camden records the discovery as 'Near Hope', but it is thought that he is referring to Ffrith (RCAHM, 1912, pp55-6).

Some tiles had Legion XX stamps (Davies, E, 1949, pp227).

Either of PRNs 100022 and 100024 could be a rediscovery of this site.
