NGR :- SJ22890749 (SJ20NW)
Unitary authority :- Powys
Community :- Welshpool
Prefered site type :- Roman - Findspot (Finds only - Destroyed )
first alternative :- Roman - Burial ?

second alternative :- Roman - Round barrow ?

Probable Roman burial deposit found when drain was laid in 1959 and partial excavation by NMW in July 1960. All objects were grave goods which were well worn. No trace of a pit or cist could be detected although there was some evidence of burning: ash and charcoal patches.

The grave goods included three bronze patarae and a bronze ewer which were packed into a bronze cauldron and wrapped in a fine linen cloth and may have been packed in leaves. The sixth vessel was a wooden bucket with bronze bull's head handle similar to that from Aylesford. There was also an iron firedog which dates from AD150-200, two iron stands, the remains of a glass bottle and some sherd of pottery (Boon, G C 1961, 13-31).
