Leat leading to Pennant Sawmill (PRN 26731) labelled 'Aqueduct' on OS 2nd edition 6" map of 1903, and another OS map of 1908. The mill stream was dammed just above the mill where it passed through a narrow defile in the rock, and water was taken by a trough to the overshot wheel. The power was then transmitted across the stream through a long shaft (Barton, P G, 2003, pp40-41).
