Clwyd Metal Mines Survey


Cornell-Llwyd lies in the community of Brynford in the county of Flintshire. It is located at Ordnance Survey national grid reference SJ18207450. The mine is recorded in the CPAT Historic Environment Record as number 18250 and this number should be quoted in all correspondence.

Lead (Early 19th century)

Carboniferous Limestone.

Smith (1921) refers to a string off the Caleb-bell cross-course being worked in this area. Two shafts are located to the south-west of the new A55 at SJ18157465 and SJ18207470. further workings may have been lost to the trunk road.
