Clwyd Metal Mines Survey


Bryn-Nantllech

Bryn-Nantllech lies in the community of Llanfair Talhaiarn in the county of Conwy. It is located at Ordnance Survey national grid reference SH94006850. The mine is recorded in the CPAT Historic Environment Record as number 18016 and this number should be quoted in all correspondence.

Copper (Early 19th century-1887)

Geology
Lower Ludlow Sandstones.

Workings
A shaft remains to the west of the farm at SH94406830 and two shafts to the north of the road at SH94056850 and SH93956860. Workings appear to follow a north-south vein and were worked as levels along the natural limestone outcrops of the ridge above Nant Rhyd-yr-eirin. Levels and tips are located at SH94156812 and SH94306820.
