Workings
Two shafts are located in fields to the west of Gwaenysgor village at SJ07038120 and SJ07098123. Although the London Lead Company worked the area in the 18th century, the evidence seems to be late 19th only. No evidence remains of the shaft within the village at SJ07708120 that appears on the OS 1st edition map. The Mine workings appear to be related to the levels driven into the hillside below from Coed yr Escob Woods.
