Clwyd Metal Mines Survey


Bryncloddiau lies in the community of Ysceifiog in the county of Flintshire. It is located at Ordnance Survey national grid reference SJ15357380. The mine is recorded in the CPAT Historic Environment Record as number 103627 and this number should be quoted in all correspondence.

Carboniferous Limestone.

The public footpath leading up from the Old Post Office is the entrance track to the mine. Evidence remains as a small area of overgrown workings, consisting of three recognisable shafts and areas of overgrown spoil heaps. The ore was raised from a small depth in 1810 with no vein found (Smith 1921).
