CPAT help out at Heritage Discovery Day

On 25th February CPAT were present at a Heritage Discovery Day organised by CARAD (Community Arts Rhayader & District/Celfyddydau Cymunedol Rhaeadr a'r Cylch) at their centre in Rhayader. Members of the local community were invited along to discover and investigate the historical and archaeological remains near their homes. Jeff Spencer demonstrated the online Regional Historic Environment Record (soon to go live to the public, contact us for more details) and assisted as visitors learned about the heritage on their doorsteps and shared their knowledge with the staff of CARAD and CPAT.

Museum Development Coordinator at CARAD Carrie Wiltshire and local historian Bryan Lawrence were on hand to identify historic household objects brought in. Jeff helped with the identification of objects in the CARAD collection soon to be incorporated into a Timeline illustrating the archaeology of the area. We at CPAT look forward to working with the staff at CARAD again in the future.
