HISTORIC SETTLEMENTS – YOUR COMMUNITY

In the early 1990s the Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust complied a series of studies of historic settlements throughout our region. The primary purpose of these was to inform planning authorities of each settlement’s history and identify an historic core to the medieval settlement. From 2010 CPAT, with funding from Cadw, re-visited these studies, starting in the old county of Brecknockshire (outside the National Park) and the old county of Radnorshire. Studies of Montgomeryshire and Flintshire followed in 2011-12 and Wrexham and the Brecon Beacons National Park in 2012-13.
