Office hours: 9.00am - 1.00pm and 2.00pm - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
Our offices are situated on three floors of a stucco fronted building of the early 19th century (a date stone over the door reads 1816) with traces of earlier fabric. The whole was remodeled in the 1860s and the interior was completely rebuilt in the early 1970s. The site was formerly occupied by the Montgomeryshire Bank but was taken over by Beck's Bank in 1816 - who are probably responsible for the existing building. Beck's was itself taken over by Lloyds Bank who remained in the premises until 1976 when they moved next door to number 40. Following their tenure the building served as offices for Harry Ray's Estate Agents and latterly as a regional office of The National Trust, before passing to the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust in March 2011.
You may visit us (by prior appointment please) to consult our Historic Environment Records or other resources, or to discuss various issues with our staff.
Access to the building is via three shallow stone steps which may just be passable for those requiring wheelchair access. We will however be more than happy to answer your queries by telephone, post or email.
